Hands
Hand: noun; the terminal, prehensile part of the upper limb in humans and other primates, consisting of the wrist, metacarpal area, fingers, and thumb.
But they are so much more that this.
They can be elegant, slim instruments capable of
the most subtle movements.
They can be short and blunt, hardened by weather, softened by
luxury. Hands can hold a baby with sweet, gentle
tenderness, or they can clinch into a fist a break another man's bones. We can use them to communicate in lieu of
verbal language, or to accentuate speech. We can use them to caress a lover, moving along the curves of the body with lightness of air, or we can press rough clay into the shape of a bowl. They are marvelous in their variety, complexity, and possibility. They are extensions of the mind and heart made corporeal. Cherish them. Treat them well.
